The historical Crystal Cave near Springfield, Missouri, will reopen the first time in nearly a decade. It ids located north of Springfield and includes 72 acres and an 1892 house. They will be open from 10 to 5 to Sunday.
It was the second commercial Missouri cave to open and in 1893. The first was the Mark Twain Cave in (I would have thought the first was Meramec Caverns.)
The Mann family who had immigrated from England opened it. That family ran it until the 1960s. Then Estle Funhouser ran it until the 2010s.

Roy's opened in 1938 with Roy Crowl, but is best-for owner Buster Burris. By the late 1940sthere was a garage, motel and restaurant located at the site. It was open 24 hours a day at that time.
