Oklahoma approves its part of Route 66 for U.S. Bicycle Route System.
It is now one step closer. The Oklahoma Transportation Commission approved funding for signage along more than 400 miles of Route 66 bike route in the state.
Part of it will be on state highways, city streets and county roads.
The Oklahoma Bicycle Coalition has been pushing for it.
It will connect to the Route 66 system in Kansas and Missouri.
