Along 66, September 2018: Underpass Cafe in Missouri
SEPTEMBER 11-- The restoration of the Underpass Cafe near Phillipsburg, Missouri, is continuing.
The long-closed property has been cleared It was named after the low-clearance Frisco Railroad bridge over Route 66.
A sign telling its story will be erected as well.
A prefabricated gas station opened on the site in 1941 and a concrete block restaurant was added in 1950.
