** Hegeler Carus Mansion in LaSalle, Il. A Second Empire structure completed in 1876 by renowned Chicago architect William W. Boylington for Edward Hegeler. Hegeler was a zinc manufacturer and publisher.
** Star Union Spirits in the historic Western Clock building in Peru for tours and tastings, specialty and artisan spirits.
** Uptown Grill in LaSalle Since 1985 featuring aged steaks, fresh seafood and a full service bar and lounge with over 100 wines and 12 craft beers.
** Seneca launched 157 LSTs (Landing Ship Tanks) during World War II and some 27,000 workers were employed. These ships landed tanks, vehicles, troops and supplies and were an important aspect of the eventual Allied victory. Every spring the town celebrates Shipyard Days in June to commemorate it.
