I take these posts from the Route 66 News blog which had posts every day (sometimes more than one) and this site also goes into more detail. I only use the posts that are the most interest to me. But, if you really want to know what is going on along the Mother Road, check out the Route 66 News.

AUGUST 1
A Missouri official expresses misgivings about the possible demolition of the Gasconade River Bridge in Missouri. He is Advisory Counsel on Historic Preservation and is concerned about the bridge being torn down.
The bridge was closed to traffic in 2014 because of the deterioration of the structure.
We were fortunate to be able to cross it several times before its closure. The Route 66 Association of Missouri and several other groups have been battling to save it. I'd love to see it turned into a park.
