Information unearthed on obscure Route 66 ghost town of Beonine, Texas.
This ghost town about a mile west of Texola, Oklahoma, appears to have already been defunct by the 1940s. Virtually no trace of it remains.
Even Jack Rittenhouse's 1946 "A Guide Book to Highway 66" doesn't mention it.
A guy did an interesting video of its location. Worth watching. Like with neon, museums and signage, you can never have too many ghost towns.
Texola, Oklahoma, itself is somewhat of a ghost town with justb36 people living there now. There wasn't even anything about Beonine, Texas, in Wikipedia.
