BORTELL'S FISHERIES: A 15-minute drive from Ludington is a rural, 6th generation family business selling smoked and fried fish sold by the pound. Seating is outside picnic tables.
SUMMIT PARK: Give the half-pound of smelt with fries a shot and watch the sunset.
CARTIER MANSION: A room at the converted stable of the 1905 mansion built for a lumber baron and have breakfast featuring a sausage made with the chef's 22-ingredients.
SABLE LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS ASSOCIATION: Members are eligible to tend a Lake Michigan Lighthouse for one or two weeks. Membership costs $60 for one person, or $100 for a family. That includes free admission to four lights: Big Sable, Little Sable, Ludington and White River.
That Would Be Interesting to Tend a Lighthouse. But, I Don't Know About Those Stairs. --RoadDog
